In Memory of Lonnie Alan WoodBorn: 15 May, 1970, Ft. Polk, Louisiana The cause of his death is not known. The hospital couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. In the end, they decided it was a rare disorder of the liver. It was strange since he was not a drinking person. He was proud to be known as "an Army brat." He was very patriotic, and pro military. He loved racing...any kind. At the time of his passing, he worked part time on a pit crew for a friend of his who races sprint cars. He never married, and had no children. He had one sister, and one niece, who he loved dearly. I wrote this poem the morning after he passed away. I know you can't see me.... If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane.
